The Test Kitchen: a cooking series for kids, in six-week terms

Two six-week terms in our Groton kitchen, one afternoon a week. Your child works at their own station on something new each session and comes home with what they made. Take one term or both, and each term ends with the children cooking for their families.

- Term 1 runs Sep 14 – Nov 2. Term 2 runs Nov 9 – Dec 21. Take either, or both.
- Twelve seats per term. Every child cooks, no one watches.
Term 1: Explore and discover
- Testing new ingredients, flavors, and culinary traditions
- Comparing techniques that create different textures and results
- Working through each recipe together, step by step, building confidence
- Ending with a Family Sampler Plate the children serve themselves
Term 2: Refine and take the lead
- New to us in Term 2? You can start here. We review and reinforce the fundamentals, so nobody is left behind
- More advanced projects, with children working independently as the chef steps back
- Personalizing recipes with creative twists and seasonal inspiration
- Finishing with the Third Space Test Kitchen Showcase, where they cook for you

My daughter started last fall with a love of baking and a few basic foods she liked to eat. She progressed quickly and her palate is open to new foods. She brings home things to sample from all over the world. We love the staff and the program!
